Course Code: CHC50121

The CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is the qualification that ACECQA requires for those wanting to advance their career and studies in early childhood and take on higher levels of responsibility and leadership in an early childhood service. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in providing care to children, with an emphasis on play-based learning and assist children achieve developmental outcomes. It is the qualification for those wishing to lead an education and care program for children before they enter formal schooling. A Diploma further enables you to implement, and manage education and care programs, and supervise staff and volunteers. You will also gain entry level management knowledge and skills that let you oversee the early childhood education and care service.

Total of 52 weeks: 40 weeks of tuition, 280 hours of work placement, 12 weeks of holidays

  • 18 years of age or over
  • Complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • Have a reasonable level of fitness to cope with standing, lifting, bending, twisting and reaching.

  • CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Workplace requirements: 280 hours

Through the Diploma qualification, you will learn what it means to provide a program for babies, toddlers and young children and work in a position of responsibility. There are 15 units of study in this qualification covering topics such as:

  • Managing and maintaining legal and ethical compliance

All students in this qualification are allocated a MindChamps Academy Trainer/Assessor who will guide them through the qualification. Trainers and Assessors are all qualified in early childhood education and have at least 5 years’ experience completing the job you are wanting to hold. Our Trainers and Assessors provide regular zoom tutorial sessions, email and face to face support so you always have help when you need it!
